Celebrated Kate and Hunter becoming husband and wife on September 16th with the dreamiest brunch wedding in Atlanta, Georgia at Ashton Gardens. From the beginning of this day to the end, each detail was thoughtfully crafted to showcase the couples fun and energetic personality, and most importantly, their love story. Since Kate and I first connected last year, she was the most incredible bride to work with. When she envisioned her wedding day, it was clear that she wanted to give their guests an unforgettable experience from start to finish. From custom newspapers, hot pink petals for guests to toss at the conclusion of the ceremony, and their stunning ivory four tiered wedding cake – no detail was left untouched. When it comes to capturing and elevating my couples vision, it is so refreshing to work with a vendor team that goes above and beyond for their clients. At the bottom of this blog, you will be able to see the vendor dream team who made this day possible. And now, for the photos!
One of the things that I adored about the Taylors wedding day was their first looks. Kate’s grandfather went with her to pick out her wedding dress, so naturally they did a first look and there was not a dry eye in the house. She also did first looks with her dad and step father, which I adored.
When it came to the decor and florals for the reception and ceremony, I have to mention how much I loved getting to photograph such a vibrant color scheme. Bloom and Ivy Weddings did a phenomenal job executing Hunter and Kate’s wedding vision and it was a delight to get creative and capture it.
I always tell my couples when it comes to designing their reception space to think about two things
1) How they want their atmosphere to feel when they make their grand entrance post ceremony
and
2) Prioritizing what they value in their wedding set up and ambiance over anything else.
For many CSP couples – florals are a top priority and take up a large portion of their wedding budget. Having flourishing florals that reflect your wedding days design and overall theme is a wonderful way to ensure that you are able to tie together the design elements of your day no matter what your venue looks like. One of the best parts about Ashton Gardens is it offers separate spaces for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception. Each room can be decorated to fit the needs of the couple in terms of entertainment and design. Kate and her planning team did a phenomenal job in making sure all of the tiniest details like their brunch menus, citrus arrangements and custom signage were prevalent throughout the reception space.
For bridal party portraits, I really wanted to highlight their colorful dresses and give a creative take on traditional photos with a mix of motion blur and editorial posing. Kate said over and over throughout the planning process that she completely trusted my vision day of, and we had the best time doing the prompts with her girls.
We had the absolute best time for their bride and groom portraits because we did not just one but two sets of photos. We did more formal portraits onsite at the venue and then following the send off – I went back with them to their hotel for some romantic and fun flash photos. Does not get any better than that! A little bit of rain could not stop us from getting some show stopping photos out in front of the chapel
Once we arrived back at the hotel, we started in their suite and then made our way down to the hotle bare, and of course, stopped by the elevators for an iconic kissing shot.
As always, I have to shout out the incredible vendor team that made this day flawless. If you are in need of vendors for your upcoming special day I highly recommend each of these talented teams.
